Lauren Haverfield makes a forward pass and gains possession of a football team full of prospects. Kevin Deller and Darren Banks are the first eligible receivers of Lauren’s affections, but will they face their share of penalties if they score a touchdown and win their team owner’s heart?

The line of scrimmage won’t prevent this dynamic duo from rushing for the ultimate score after Lauren secures team ownership of the Knoxville Soldiers. With big plans and illicit long-term goals, Lauren offers perks and benefits as she renegotiates contracts for the men she wants playing on her field, and in her bed.

The Following Excerpt is suitable for most audiences:

Prologue

She was the kind of woman other women envied, the type of broad that didn’t just turn heads, but she gave them a good spinning. And from the moment Kevin Deller set eyes on her, he wanted her. He desired her even though he knew what having her would potentially cost him.

The price he’d pay didn’t matter.

The only thing Kevin concerned himself with was how Lauren Haverfield made him feel. Whenever she strolled into Cap’s office with her hand out, Kevin’s heart stopped. One glimpse was all it took, and with the 2011 season upon them, he needed to focus on football, not the pussycat purring from the sidelines.

He might as well have a word with the head coach. Maybe he’d tell Cap, the team owner, to keep his ex-fiancĂ©e off the damn field.

After spotting the sexy siren entering the stadium, Kevin couldn’t remember the next play they were due to run. A Lauren sighting made him stark crazy. The guys on the offensive line knew it and ribbed him about her on a daily basis.

God forbid if her gaze wandered toward the locker room where all the guys stripped and washed. Most of the fellows didn’t care if Lauren was around or not, but Kevin wasn’t one of them. Oh no, when her eyes were set in motion, it was the only time in a bazillion years that he was the slightest bit modest.

Yeah, he knew his reasons.

He made up his mind a long time ago. If Lauren gaped at the goods between his legs, she’d pay the price and get a ride for the show.

Cap didn’t seem to mind that his pretty young ex pranced in and out of the stadium at will. “Ah hell,” he’d say, “I’ve bought and paid for the broad. Don’t give a damn what she sees now, just as long as I don’t have to hear about it later.”

At one time, Lauren belonged to Cap because Cap made sure he put enough in her pocket to guarantee she stayed loyal to him, lavishing her with the finest of everything. Cap had the money to do it. He’d made a name for himself when he started a conglomerate of sports team franchises.

He also acquired quite the reputation among the ladies which was probably why Lauren broke off the engagement. Cap didn’t seem to notice. His social calendar stayed full, and the hostesses entertaining him were among the most desired women in the world.

Kevin avoided those circles even though he could’ve chosen from any number of beautiful arm ornaments readily available to professional athletes. If rumors were accurate, Kevin was paid more than anyone on his boss’s payroll, which appealed to the typical groupie, but only one gal held his attention and now Lauren was a free agent. Still, Cap wouldn’t want her in bed with one of his top earners. Kevin sort of believed that piece of gossip held some truth.

Besides, Kevin realized a long time ago relationships never lasted forever, so why mess up a good thing all for a romp across the mattress? Unless, of course, he could bargain with Lauren for a little discretion and some part-time lovin’, but then, Kevin had a feeling, forever would come with a price tag he’d never be able to afford.

He still wanted her all the same and maybe even more.

Temptation possessed an alluring name. Lauren Haverfield was the forbidden fruit dangling in front of him with a promise of pure carnal sinning. His fellow players weren’t short on opportunities to taunt him, and they should have teased him. He gave them plenty of ammunition. He acted like a young man in search of a first fuck rather than a grown adult who knew what to do with the hardened tool of maturity.

The ball snapped, and he fumbled. “Ah shit,” he grumbled, staring at his wide receiver who was smirking back at him. Hell, ninety percent of the players on that field wanted a trip to Lauren’s bed.

It was only a matter of time. Soon, Kevin Deller would take one for the team. Whether or not Cap would employ him after the fact was the question.

Kevin reached a decision right then. He didn’t care either way. There were other teams. There was only one Lauren.
