Shopping for A Billionaire’s Honeymoon—Just 99 cents until January 19th!

Shopping for A Billionaire’s Honeymoon (Book 11 in the Shopping series)

Author: Julia Kent
Release date: January 31, 2017
Genre: Romantic Comedy, Contemporary Romance

Description:

He is addicted to his phone and his new role as CEO. I’m addicted to getting some on my own honeymoon.

One of these things is not like the other.

I am pretty sure a serial killer’s lair is the only place in the world where I could stash my new husband so he can’t manage the acquisition of our new company.

And that seems a little drastic.

But only a little...

All I want is one week alone with him. Hours in bed, legs tangled together in ecstasy, room service and long walks on the beach in Hawaii.

Not vying for his kisses around a Bluetooth microphone. The Borg aren’t sexy in real life.

So I’m taking matters into my own hands and hitting “reboot” on our honeymoon.

We’re going to a place so remote that no one can find us.

Not even my mother.

Shopping for a Billionaire’s Honeymoon is now a full-length book of 150+ pages, with both Shannon and Declan’s points of view. Originally published with only Shannon’s viewpoint, this expanded edition is a result of reader feedback. People wanted to know what Declan was up to – so here you go. This book is meant to be read after Shopping for a Billionaire’s Wife and/or Shopping for a CEO’s FiancĂ©e, but if you read it out of order (or even as a standalone), that’s fine. Shannon and Declan forgive you. ;)

Author Bio:

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men's room toilet (and he isn't a billionaire). She lives in New England with her husband and three sons in a household where the toilet seat is never, ever, down

Excerpts:

#1

Shannon

Let’s do an inventory of this fine day. My day-after-I-got-married day. In Vegas.
After fleeing my Momzilla mother.
Today is supposed be Day One of my honeymoon after marrying the billionaire of my dreams.
(Let’s not count the night before).
Woke up to the lovely sight of my husband’s tousled dark hair sliding down my torso so he could feast on me for breakfast.
Had actual breakfast in bed after room service delivered mixed berries, cream, bacon, and maple-soaked carrot-cake french toast, and the best damn coffee on the planet from the coffee chain I now own.
Made love with my delightful husband in the giant jetted bathtub in our suite. Turns out I’m as bendy as a Cirque du Soleil performer when I need to be. Maybe Mom’s insistence that I attend all those yoga classes she teaches has a silver lining after all.
Dressed and prepared to hop the corporate jet for Hawaii, kisses interspersed between readying ourselves for the trip. Undressed twice. Dressed twice. Declan insisted I not wear panties for the plane trip.
“But I’m already a member of the Mile High Club,” I’d protested.
“Not as a wife.”
He had a point.
Panties abandoned.
Found his brother, my best friend, a former colleague and an Anterdec chauffeur all married to each other.
Notice something a little different about that last one?
Yeah. Me too.
Day One of my honeymoon had promise, but now? Now it’s a little too real.
We’re on the plane, settling into our seats, and I’m doing my best not to think about my poor best friend and her chaotic mess back at the Anterdec resort where Declan and I just spent nearly a week trying to figure out our entire life.
Which we did, successfully, to my utter surprise. After fleeing our wedding in a helicopter and lying to my Momzilla mother, we managed to get to Las Vegas, ensconced in a resort on the Vegas Strip that Declan had designed himself as an intern in college. By the time my crazy family caught up to us, we’d steeled ourselves for the inevitable fallout.
And got so much more than we expected, in more ways than one. We’re married now. Husband and wife.
That’s really all that matters.
That, and honeymoon sex.
Lots and lots and lots of honeymoon sex. It’s my wifely right to walk funny for the next few days.
And his husbandly duty to make it so.

#2

Declan

It’s criminal what Shannon does to me. We just had sex, spooned and cocooned, breathing in each other’s air and imprinting each other with scent and time.

And yet she makes me want more.

Spread among the mussed bedsheets, she looks like a divine being poured her into the bed, all long, rolling hair and sultry smiles. How can a body smile at me like that? Yet it does. It sings to me, a song of joy and fire that touches the very root of me.

I climb on the edge of the bed and yank her by the ankles, hard, making her squeal.

You know what you do with criminals?

You handcuff them.

Favorite Lines from Turn Card by Destiny Blaine

1. The older woman looked like she’d taken a plunge off the backside of sixty-five and wasn’t too happy about it

2. “Hello, princess.” This time his smile lit up the room. “I’ve been expecting you.”

3. He took a deep breath, debating on how much he should tell her. “Call it fate.”

“Manipulation is a better word," Kathleen said.

4. She headed for the door and he should’ve let her walk away. Instead, he was like a launching grenade, slow to peak but explosive once he gathered her in his arms.

5. “I do get to walk away because that’s exactly what I did in Chicago. And if the roles had been reversed? I would’ve expected nothing less from you.”

6. “It’s early,” she replied. “And I heard something.”
“Probably that cat of yours.”
“He’s territorial.”
Kade inched closer. “He’s not the only one.”

7. “I still have time to decide.”

“Maybe, but at least play fair. Think about Kathleen and her happiness. Don’t make her wait for you if you already know that she could end up being the mistress you love but will never allow yourself to have.”

“I don’t like what you’re suggesting.”

“Neither do I,” Kade said. “Because it’s the truth.”

8. “It’s Blane. Did I interrupt something?”

Kade swore under his breath and nudged the Santini gunman with his foot. He had lost count of how many times Blane had “interrupted” something. “Yeah, big brother, as a matter of fact you did.”

9. Not every woman dreams of Prince Charming. He’s just the one who has enough money to buy his way to the top. It doesn’t mean he has enough charisma or appeal to stay there.”

10. “You’re gambling on the wrong girl, Kade.”

“And you’re going all-in on forever, are you?” Kade balked at that. “No worries, Blane. I know the lady belongs to my brother. But for now, she’s on my arm. You need to come to terms with that and let us do what we came here to do.”

11. Kade lowered his head and whispered, “Trust me, princess. If we browse for toys, I won’t be in the market for shiny little cars and wind-up dolls. You and I will shop for a different kind of plaything. And we’ll need a lot of batteries for what I have in mind.”

12. Blane grabbed Kade by the shoulders and threw him against the sofa like he weighed nothing. “You’re fucked now, little brother.”

Kade, smart-ass that he was, fired back, “No, fucked was last night.”

13. Blane was like an ox, driving forward with his head to Kade’s gut until Kade landed on the sofa with Blane topping him for another round of motorized-like punches. “You just couldn’t help yourself!”

“Oh I helped myself all right.”

“You bastard!” Blane hit him again.

Kade let him have a few in the beginning. After all, he deserved them. Now, he had no other choice but to fight back.

“You slept with her!”

“Yep.” He couldn’t, and wouldn’t, deny that.

14. Perturbed by his casual mannerism after they’d made out in front of a lone audience, she bit out, “Sometimes I wonder how you go to sleep at night.”

“Easy…with your name on my lips.”

Excerpt

“Father have you seen Gabe?” Julia rushed in the living room dressed like a mortal. Her hair was up in a ponytail, tied back with a poufy lime green hair band. It was sticking up all over the place thanks to some sort of wet goo.
Seth focused on his golf ball. He gripped his club a bit tighter and narrowed his eyes. And right when he made up his mind to swing, Julia darted in front of him and plucked the ball from the floor.
“What the—”
She held up the golf ball. “Now that I have your attention, I asked you a question.”
“You had my attention when you walked in here wearing those dreadful clothes. Which poor street bum did you strip of his breeches? I need to find him and apologize.”
“Father, you aren’t funny.”
“I don’t think so either.” He grabbed a handful of dried berries from the teacart and returned to his putting green. “Go upstairs and change and I’ll tell you where your brother and Gabe are.”
Julia gasped. “Gabe and Gideon are together?”
He snatched the ball from her hand. “Do you want to know where they are or not?”
“For your information, Father, I’m fashionable.”
“If tacky is the new ‘in’ then forgive me if I can’t give the latest designers my nod of approval. Once you dress for success, come back and I’ll tell you where you can find that boring mortal.”
By the time he ate another handful of ripe fruit and repositioned his ball, Julia made another clean sweep and interrupted his game once more. Seth studied her latest fashion choice. Dressed in a turtleneck and navy dress slacks, she looked more prepared for prep school than a date. “See there. Was that so hard? Now you’re dressed like a lady.”
He gave himself a proverbial pat on the back. Gabe would probably think she looked like a prude. Seth needed to start shopping with his daughter. Maybe if Julia stopped flashing so much skin, the mortal would quit hanging around whenever he was ‘off’ work. “Honey, I’ve been meaning to ask you. What is it that Gabe does?”
“What do you mean?”
“You know, like a job or school. What does he do when he isn’t here with you?”
“He’s twenty-four. He has a job.”
“Did he go to college?” Seth remembered hearing something about a degree.
“He majored in business, Daddy. He works for an accounting firm but he wants to start his own business.”
“Excellent,” Seth said, thinking he’d never be able to afford his daughter’s spending habits.
“I’m glad you approve.”
“Absolutely, darling. If he makes you happy, he makes me happy.” Seth forced a smile. He’d learned valuable lessons from his older children. If he didn’t like one of their ‘friends’ then he would get along with them, even take their side when there were disagreements. Eventually, his approval would provoke his children into disapproval and they’d move on to someone else.
He took a shallow breath and tried to think about that for a moment. Come to think of it, none of his children had mentioned the dirty ‘m’ word, the one that typically popped up when mortals became obsessed with their perceived life partners. That could only mean none of them had found their mates.
A father could drink to that.
He traipsed to the wet bar and uncapped several blood vials. He always made sure the donor’s name was on the label so he could determine if one human tasted better than another. “Now, what was it that you wanted from me?” He poured himself a Bloody Veronica.
“You were about to tell me where Gideon and Ga—” Julia stopped midsentence and cocked her head. “Did you hear that noise?”
Seth set aside the small cylindrical containers and sipped his bloody cocktail. “I was too busy listening to—”
A low, guttural wind-like howl resounded in the distance. If the weather hadn’t been so doggone predictable lately, Seth would’ve banked on a pending storm and a mighty one at that. The oozing growl intensified. There wasn’t enough kick behind the racket to warrant a pending wind yet the eerie whines filling the halls suggested someone had left a door ajar and the weather outside was frightful.
Julia said, “Guess it’s getting ready to storm.”
“Hmm,” Seth said, paying closer attention to the volume level as a soft thudding resounded followed by another series of muted wails and low whimpers.
“Maybe I should call and check on Mother.”
Seth wasn’t concerned about his wife. He was more concerned about Gideon. What was that boy up to now? “Where is your mother?” His wife was more equipped to deal with Gideon.
“She went to a town meeting,” Julia replied. “She wants to start a program for the homeless children in—”
A hissing sound now filled the room followed by a whistling racket and another thump. This time it sounded like it was coming from another part of the house.
Seth went to the window. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky. It was a beautiful day. The sun was out and the trees were unusually calm.
“Father, Gabe’s car is here. You mentioned he was with Gideon?”
Seth’s senses were alert then as he considered the noises he’d heard—thumping, whistling, moaning, and guttural sounds more reminiscent of pleasure than turbulent weather.
He approached the foyer and stared down the dark hall leading to the old house. The same noises shot through the corridor and Seth gasped in understanding. He immediately turned to his daughter and draped a protective arm around her shoulders, guiding her back to the living room.
“What do you say we sit on the terrace and wait for their return?”
“Dad.”
“Don’t “Dad” me. That’s too ‘human’ for my blood.” He cut his gaze at the foyer and thought of a few other things that were ‘too human’ for his blood. He felt his incisors poke at his gums as he considered the betrayal in motion. “Yes, Julia. Let’s sit outside for a bit. It’s a beautiful afternoon and we shouldn’t miss a minute of it. You never know when your days with loved ones are numbered or when a beautiful day is nothing more than the calm before the storm.”

Book Excerpt

“Well, well, well,” Matilda drawled, taking a seat at Luke’s and Nicholas’s table. “I didn’t expect to see you two out and about tonight.”
“Matilda,” Nicholas grated out, not making eye contact.
“What’s a young girl like you doing in a place like this?” Luke asked, staring at her like he wanted to bed her.
“I could ask you the same thing, Luke.”
“Clearly, I’m not a little girl.”
“Do you see me toting along my dolls and toys?”
“I do not,” Luke said, nursing his whiskey. “But if you were, those toys would be for adult play."
“So the insults are already over?” She clucked. “Damn. You’re no fun at all.” But he sure was easy on the eyes.
“We know what kind of fun you like, Matilda,” Nicholas ground out, apparently still bitter. They’d met on a few occasions and each time they’d met, Matilda had thrown around a spell or two.
“Why don’t you tell me, cowboy,” she drawled, flirting with the vampire who’d dared to embarrass her in public. The first time they’d met, he’d told a saloon full of patrons who he thought she was. She reached for him, eager to see how he responded to her now.
Nicholas jerked his arm away. “Don’t touch me.”
Matilda held up her hands. “Excuse me for trying to make up.”
“You can’t excuse what you did to me.”
“He has a point,” Luke said, apparently wise to what had happened.
“What if I make it up to you,” she offered, dragging three fingers up and down her cleavage.
Nicholas looked away. “You couldn’t if you tried.”
“Oh but I could,” she promised, aware of his true reason for being so bitter. Nicholas was a real looker and the whores had thoroughly enjoyed him, but not even half as much as he’d once enjoyed them. That is, until Matilda made sure he’d never find satisfaction with anyone else again.
Nicholas rose to his feet. “I’m leaving. Somebody needs to keep an eye on the cattle.”
“Gideon out tonight?” she asked, grinning as she considered the rumors flying around Devil’s Valley. Apparently the female newcomer had already raked her fingernails down the head Devil’s back or soon would, which was probably the straight of it since Petra had said the woman was a real lady.
“No,” Nicholas bit out, turning his attention to Luke. “You staying or going?”
Luke moistened his lips and stared at Matilda’s. “I’m staying.”
“Suit yourself.” He stomped away without saying goodbye.
Matilda stroked her bottom lip with her middle finger, ogling Luke with nothing more than illicit intentions. “So, tell me, Luke Devil. What are we going to do with our time?”
Before she could turn on the charm, Luke snatched her around the waist and dashed up the pair of stairs leading to the hotel’s rooms. Pausing in the hallway, he pinned her against the wall. “Which room is yours?”
“You tell me.”
“You’re staying here for the night or you wouldn’t be here,” Luke said.
“I am indeed,” she said. She’d rented a room for one purpose, too. She’d hoped the Devils would show up and she could pump one or two of them for information, not literally of course, but since Luke was there and apparently willing, she wasn’t opposed to the idea.
“I’m famished, Matilda,” Luke said in a tight voice. “And unless you want to become my next meal, I suggest you tell me which room you rented.”
Taking a moment to decide whether or not she’d play along, she finally nodded at the room across the hall. “Over there.”
In a matter of seconds, they were behind closed doors. His hand landed against the wall next to her head and she would’ve bet a sack of gold that his next move would’ve been a delivered passionate kiss. Instead, he leered at her as if he couldn’t stand the sight of her. Then, his nostrils flared, his eyes widened, and he undoubtedly knew in that instant what she had always known.
He belonged to her.
She belonged to him.

A ripple of awareness shook through Felix as Colburn claimed his lips with a surprising amount of force and longing. The intensity of their kiss nearly swept Felix off his feet. The hunger growing within was too hardcore to ignore, too powerful to deny. He couldn’t have stopped where they were headed if he’d faced an executioner or a wall full of dancing flames.
Colburn set his tongue in motion, swirling around Felix’s at a leisurely pace. The incredible depths of their kisses made Felix shiver. The passion brewing between them was quite indescribable as Colburn swept inside his mouth and explored him with his tongue.
Grabbing hold of Felix’s ponytail, Colburn yanked his head back and assaulted his mouth with still another fiery kiss, one that left Felix shattered, horny, and totally vulnerable. He was more apt to agree to anything Colburn might suggest then as he cupped his neck and drew him close, allowing ample freedom for several bumps and grinds. Unwinding together, they undulated in one another’s arms.
“Take off your tux,” Colburn demanded, stepping away from him.
Blinking in surprise, Felix stared at the beast of a man before him. No wonder the townspeople were so impressed by Colburn Cay. He looked like a poster boy for hot sex, a promise and a curse.
Colburn went to the bar and made himself a drink. He tossed back a scotch then consumed two more before he turned around again.
“I told you to undress.”
“Do you always get what you want?” Felix challenged him.
Colburn’s full lips twitched. “Generally speaking? Yes.”
“And what is it that you want exactly?”
“Right now?” Colburn’s heavy eyelids cast a shadow over a lust-filled gaze weighted down with too much desire. “You have to ask?”
“I don’t want to want you,” Felix admitted. “I don’t even want you to desire me.”
“I find you extremely boring, so we’re even.”
“You don’t even know me.”
“You lack personality.”
“And you’re the life of the party.”
“You say that like it’s an annoyance. And I told you to strip.” Colburn shrugged away from his jacket and kicked off his shoes. “I’ll make this easier for you.”
“By undressing me with your eyes?”

Colburn unfastened his suspenders and unhooked his trousers. “Deny that you want me.”
