Rise to Power, Search for Pride

Published by eXtasy Books

"Every man, every beast, has a price"

"When Money and Power Aren't Enough"

"The older the money, the more valued the man and his lion's share"

"The right people can push a man to his limits"

The following excerpt is from Money, Book Two in Rise to Power, Search for Pride

“I’ll take him. Name your price.”

Barlo Matheson’s wicked gaze roamed over Ariela like a SUV roving over rough terrain. He jerked at strategic points, swerved one way or another, then remained committed to his cause—the business at hand, which apparently had more to do with staring at her boobs than talking about the caged lion Ariela wanted to buy.

“He’s not for sale, Ariela. Jagger and I already spoke on the phone about this. You really shouldn’t have stopped by unannounced.”

“I was here for the show,” Ariela said, as if that explained away her reasons for bribing and then pushing past the guards responsible for keeping Matheson’s lions under lock and key.

Ariela reached inside the cage housing the gorgeous white lion. She ran her fingers through his thick, soft coat, admiring the silken fur. Digging her nails into his flesh, she firmly raked the animal’s hide, anticipating a flinch, some sort of response to her touch.

“Ariela, you should be more cautious,” Barlo scolded her. “I can’t be responsible for damages if the lion turns on you.”

“He won’t.” Barlo wasn’t fooling anyone. Sanchez possessed a gentle nature. His trainers and handlers commended him for being so tame.

“You can never be too certain with wild animals.”

“I’m sure,” she said, watching the gorgeous white creature as she petted him with a firmer hand.

The lion’s clear blue eyes met hers. His muscles tightened. His tail swished rapidly.

“I know what you are,” she whispered, stroking between his ears.

“I want you to go back to Pride’s Casino and tell Jagger I don’t appreciate his tactics. Sending you over here to do his bidding doesn’t fare well. It’s bad business.” Barlo stepped closer, and closed the distance between them. He lifted a lock of hair from her shoulder and added, “Then again, perhaps Jagger is willing to play dirty when he wants something.”

Ariela never moved. The lion, however, released a rumbling roar.

Barlo leapt backward. He glared at the beast and bit out, “You’re upsetting the animal.”

“The animal has a name, Barlo. Use it. If anything is upsetting, it’s how this beautiful creature is treated.”

“He’s cared for like a pet should be, but we don’t give our acts room to move. Over at your place, the lions dominate. Last I heard, Jagger had expanded their den to well over twenty thousand square feet, and that, my dear, is ridiculous! You shouldn’t allot that much space for these creatures unless you’re using the square footage for a performing arena.”

“Jagger believes in treating all animals with respect. We want Sanchez for our personal…” she paused as she thought of a way to best convey her need. “We’d like to add him to our pride.”

There was no other way to say it.

“Your personal pride?” Barlo went into hysterics. “Your pride?” He howled with another round of laughter. “Next you’ll try to convince me you’re a lioness, with a particular need for this one because of the demands placed on Jagger during your mating season.”

Ariela focused on the lion again, too aware of her desire to see him in human form. If she didn’t figure out a way to save Sanchez from captivity, she wouldn’t be able to still the beast inside her. She wanted Sanchez. She needed him.

“Ariela, I want you to go.” Barlo apparently realized then she wasn’t laughing with him. Her calmness seemingly made him uncomfortable. “And be sure to tell Jagger we’ve spoken and I relayed once again—Sanchez is not for sale.” Barlo’s pupils were enlarged, practically gleaming with his delivery of the news. “I won’t change my mind on the matter.”

Ariela stroked Sanchez’s mane once more. It pained her to leave one of her own behind. Sanchez didn’t belong there. He wasn’t Barlo’s animal. He belonged to her family, to the growing pride she was forming with Jagger and Leon.

“I’ll go,” she said hesitantly. “But I’ll be back, Barlo. And when you see me coming, you’ll know why I’m here, and you’ll negotiate.”

“Don’t count on it,” he said, stuffing a cigar in the corner of his mouth. “I’ll go for broke before I’ll let you people have Sanchez. Since you and Jagger came to Vegas, the scope of the casino business has changed. You people think you can flash a little cash and everyone will bow down.”

Cow down was more like it, but she didn’t make the correction. Nor did she mention how easy it had been to make sure those like Barlo succumbed to their tactics. In recent weeks Ariela had been on a buying spree, purchasing everything from hotels and casinos to roadside diners out in the desert. Jagger was credited with the business transactions, which was fine, but she’d been the one signing on the dotted line.

When other women became depressed, they shopped boutiques for expensive shoes or purses. When Ariela was unsettled, she bought buildings and failing businesses, and she generally scooped them up at a bargain.

“This time, you and Jagger have underestimated your target. I’ll never let you have the lion that’s responsible for driving spectators here by the droves. This is one desired acquisition you won’t acquire.”

“We’ll see about that, Barlo,” Ariela said, staring longingly at Sanchez before finally averting her gaze from the cage. “Every man, every beast, has a price. Soon I’ll figure out what yours is, and then I’ll pay in full—with cash and a smile.”

New Release: Rise to Power, Search for Pride--Power, Book One

    There’s nothing sexier than a successful man except maybe the passionate beast living inside him.

Power

New this week at eXtasy Books

“Naturally, you’d assume that I’m no threat to you. Being at the top of the food chain, it’s so easy to forget the route taken to get there, to claim that spot and keep it. Leon, darling, let me give you a couple of lessons in power. When you recognize the power in another, you don’t ignore it or you risk diminishing some of your own. And two? Power isn’t handed to you on a silver platter all neatly set up to service one. It’s typically found in the dirtiest of places, and often discovered behind closed doors.

“Those who stumble across such an extraordinary find play their hand as carefully as they can, realizing their one shot may be just that, and taking the keys to the kingdom is never easy, but it’s often just.”

“What the bloody hell are you rambling about?” Ariela asked, stepping closer to the phone that Leon now turned her way.

“I didn’t expect to find you and Leon fucking today. I overheard some of the most extraordinary tidbits of information, Ariela, the kind of information destined to destroy a man and his work. I’d hate to see that happen. Wouldn’t you?”

Ariela leaned forward, crossing her arms over her T-shirt-clad chest. “Shall I presume you’ve thought about the terms? The real ones, I mean.”

Leon shook his head behind the phone. He evidently thought there was another way, and perhaps they’d discuss their options later, particularly if Leon could find a way to get them out of this mess. For now, the ball was in Melinda’s court.Ariela wanted to see if she could dribble and shoot or just run up and down the court mouthing off about the three-pointer she planned to make as soon as everyone moved the hell out of her way.

“It’s like this,” Melinda went on. “I want a title. VP of Hotel Operations will suffice—the position is open. Tomorrow at eight o’clock, it will be mine.” She released a sigh and turned to face Jagger, who stood at the window behind his desk. He didn’t turn and face the phone, yet he must’ve been aware of the camera at his back.

Ariela’s heart broke for her mate then. He’d endured so much over the last few days, and now he faced the possibility of bedding a woman he knew Ariela hated.

Jagger despised her just as much.

Her gaze bounced between Melinda and Jagger. On second thought, he didn’t look nearly as disgusted as Ariela felt and that alone enraged her. Was Jagger actually attracted to Melinda? Was that why he wouldn’t look at them? Was he infatuated by his employee after all? Did he admire this power play she was making, regardless of what it might cost them?

“Don’t worry, Ariela. I’m too busy for an ongoing affair,” Melinda snapped. “Unlike you, I’m not interested in waiting at home for a dutiful lover to come to bed and stroke me a few licks before rolling over and staring at the wall.”

“What are you talking about?”

Jagger still didn’t turn around. He crossed his arms over his chest, acting more interested in the Las Vegas skyline than the pending conversation with the potential to damage their futures.

“See Ariela, I believe there’s nothing sexier than a successful man, except maybe that passionate beast that lives inside him—the one that drives him forward and makes him crave the success that he alone believes he deserves.”

“I get that you want to be affiliated with Jagger,” Ariela growled, “But he won’t go to bed with you. Unlike women, men have a problem sleeping with women when they aren’t turned on and aroused.”

“I can turn him on, Ariela. I promise you that.”

“What. Do. You. Want?”

“I’ve told you. Perhaps your defense mechanism is shutting out what you don’t want to hear, but listen closely, dear. Jagger will be in my bed twice a year. With the new expansion, I realize he has his head somewhere else, so I’ll give him a few months to wrap his mind around the idea. Besides, I like foreplay. Anticipation is everything, darling.”

Leon hit the mute button. “The woman is a terrorist! She wants you to dread the act. That’s a power play right there. She’s proving to you she is in control.”

So Melinda had taken her shot and made it count. Her three points were on the board—the position of power as VP of Marketing, and two nights a year with Jagger. Now it was Ariela’s turn. And by damn, Ariela knew what to do when the ball was in her court. She’d draw the foul.

Special Guest Selena Cooper and Lei Me Down

It's my great pleasure to introduce Selena Cooper. I've had the opportunity to read Selena's work and I'm a die-hard fan.  Her characters will warm your heart. Her stories will soothe the mind. And her sex scenes? Well, her sex scenes will definitely keep you up late at night!

Ladies and gentlemen, help me welcome SELENA COOPER to the blog today!
And while we're waiting for her to take the stage, run on over to eXtasy Books and pick up Selena's new title:

Lei Me Down

Interview with Selena Cooper:

Q. What inspired you to write LEI ME DOWN?

A. When I was growing up, I loved Hart to Hart. That couple was beautiful, glamorous, and they had such an exciting life together! To a little girl who lived in the boonies, they were the best! They went places I’d never even heard of, ate scrumptious-looking foods, shopped at stores other than “the dime store,” and solved crimes. I so wanted to be Jennifer Hart and have my very own, completed devoted to me, Jonathan!
So fast forward…ahem…a few years…and I created Brandy and Luke Fontaine. Luke came from money, but Brandy grew up in a blue-collar family. He is an entrepreneur and CEO of Fontaine Enterprises. Brandy is a freelance journalist. They're enjoying their honeymoon in Hawaii and don't have much more on their minds than exploring each other bodies. Then they discover a DEAD body and find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation!

Q. How do you categorize yourself: pantser or plotter?

A. Both. I start out with a general idea and then try to plot chapters as I go along. I’ll outline chapters as opposed to the entire book, because if the chapter changes the book might go in an entirely different direction.

Q. What are you working on now?
A. I’m working on the next Fontaine book. This time Brandy and Luke are in Las Vegas. I’m really having fun getting to know these characters, and I hope readers will too.

Q. How do you deal with the dreaded writer’s block?
A. I whine and panic and then I what-if. I’ll start with a blank page and type “What if” at the top. Then I’ll put something to the effect of “What if ____ comes to the hotel room?” Or “What if the phone rings, and Luke is called away on business?” Eventually, I’ll come up with something that will advance the plot.

Q. If you could be anywhere right now, where would you be?
A. I’d be somewhere WARM! Hawaii would be wonderful! Want to join me?

Um, yes. I will definitely be going along on that trip. In fact, how soon can you pack? Are we there yet? Can we take along Luke?

Selena, thanks so much for being my guest today. Congratulations on your new release!

The Open Water Swimmer

The Open Water Swimmer—book synopsis from eXtasy Books

The elite swimmer Dana’s destined to fall in love with is also destined to die. Can she change his fate?
When children’s mystery writer Dana Thomas has recurring nightmares about a swimmer drowning in a race, she aims to change his fate. Her plan to remain objective makes a serious splashdown when she meets her “mission”, a towering blue-eyed man with the best cut set of pectorals she’s ever seen. Going incognito as a feeding station volunteer for FINA World Cup series raced, Dana travels to Greece, Portugal, Honduras, and Tunisia to try to protect him. When heat between the pair sizzles, Dana falls hopelessly in love with this man destined to die.

Elite swimmer and former Navy fighter pilot Jeff Dickson keeps dreaming he’s drowning. Recently dumped by his long-time girlfriend, who found him too competitive, Jeff believes his driven personality and international travel schedule can’t mix with love. When Jeff meets Dana, he’s instantly attracted to her voluptuous and mysterious personality. When Jeff learns she’s been stalking him for weeks at swimming races, he decides she must be psycho.

A series of fateful events before the final race lead Dana to believe her nightmare is about to unfold. Anticipating a dive-in and rescue scenario, Dana is shocked to discover that’s only the beginning. Can she change the fate of the man she loves and survive?

Book Review of The Open Water Swimmer

The Open Water Swimmer by Sabrina Devonshire isn’t your typical sports romance which is one of the reasons I loved this sensational novel. While the sport of open water swimming is definitely well understood by the end of the book, the author clearly put some thought into drawing the reader into her plot by building momentum with the appropriate development of a full-fledged romantic suspense.

A delightful novel with descriptive language, The Open Water Swimmer was written by an author who not only knows her sport, but also has a strong sense of place which she can convey to her readers with a deft hand. True to the sport and her story, Sabrina nails down the mechanics and vividly describes the events and her setting without sacrificing the budding romance. SabrinaDevonshire delivers a fast-paced romantic suspense while building a fiery chemistry between her hero and heroine, often a real task for writers when they’re writing so much action into a manuscript.

The verbal banter between the characters is often witty and always conveys a natural chemistry destined to win a romance reader's heart. There’s never a dull moment in this Sabrina Devonshire novel.  She takes us by the hand and leads us through a wonderful adventure.  Expect a few bumps along the way because her characters face challenges and all romantic suspense readers will enjoy watching the extreme measures Sabrina’s characters take to overcome them. You’ll enjoy every twist and turn. In the end, you’ll reach a satisfying conclusion that will keep you running back for more from author Sabrina Devonshire!

Spotlight on Acclaimed Author Sabrina Devonshire

Dangerous Descent The Unseen

Sabrina, thank you so much for taking the time to sit down for an interview. I'm thrilled to feature your books here and at Romance Reviews Submitted by Authors. In fact, we have two fantastic reviews coming up for your books over there so I'm so excited for you as we start into a Sabrina Devonshire weekend! Welcome!

Since reading your book, The Open Water Swimmer, I’ve considered myself a fan. I’ve always loved to swim so any novel with swimming at the heart of the plot will definitely gain this reader’s attention. However, your book was different from others I’ve read, specifically in comparison to other novels that would potentially fall in the sports romance category. I don’t want to provide spoilers for your readers, but would like to know the story behind the story. Will you give us a little insight on where you came up with the idea for the plot and if anything specifically triggered some of the elements and/or events you included in The Open Water Swimmer?

In addition to writing novels, I write magazine features; primarily on health and fitness topics and competitive swimming. The 10K open water swimming marathon was introduced as an Olympic event in the 2008 Beijing Games. I wrote several features on open water swimming that year and became a bit obsessed with the sport. When I saw a headline about an open water swimming death, I thought what if I jumped off that premise and made it end more favorably? And so I did.

I absolutely love the water—swimming enhances my mood, inspires me to write, improves my health and keeps me very fit. So I swim hard in the pool most days of the week and often compete in Masters swimming meets.  I’m also a certified scuba diver.  But I’ve never done distance ocean swimming for a variety of reasons—I get hypothermia easily in cold water and suffer chronic fatigue after endurance training. I also get dreadfully motion sick in a choppy sea. So beyond the few one or two mile open water races I swam in La Jolla and Waikiki,  it was sheer joy to live vicariously through Jeff Dickson and break all my own physical limitations through his character. I hope my book brings more attention to this thrilling sport, which many people don’t even know exists.

Sabrina, you have a strong writing voice, one that is distinctly your own and shows that you know who you are as a writer.  How long have you been writing? Take us back to the start of your writing career and tell us about your journey.

I kept a journal as a youth and even wrote a mystery story when I was eight involving tree forts and squirrels. No, I won’t ever be publishing it J
I always dreamed of being a writer, but was told repeatedly it wasn’t a practical career, so I abandoned the idea until seven years ago, when I found myself suddenly unemployed. My ultra-supportive husband asked me, “What do you really want to do now?” and I told him I wanted to work as a fitness professional and try to publish magazine articles and books. He instantly gave me the “thumbs up” sign, which he always does when it comes to chasing down my dreams.

I was hired as a personal trainer/instructor at an active adult community in January of 2005 and published my first article in the Arizona Daily Star—a travel feature about Peru— in May of that same year. Since then, in an effort to hone my craft, I’ve enrolled in local writing classes and writing workshops across the country and even once in Prague. Now, I continue to train a well-established clientele, write regularly for three national magazines, and have four published novels.

3.  Tell us about a typical writing day. Do you listen to music while you work? Do you follow a set schedule when you’re writing? How many hours per week do you normally write?

This answer should provide some comic relief…There is no typical writing day for me. I prefer to sit outside with my laptop because I tend to write better with plenty of light and fresh air. I usually find music and television too much of a distraction, but occasionally I’ll listen to some light Jazz, such as Paul Hardcastle (for some reason, just that name sounds so enticingly phallic, it sets a nice tone for writing some erotic scenes J). Depending on my work schedule at the gym, what’s happening with my family, and my mood, my writing schedule changes daily. I try to write fresh material when my energy level is high and will write into the night and even cut back on other work when inspiration levels soar. For magazine and book writing combined, I probably write about 25 to 40 hours per week.

4. I’m always interested in hearing other authors describe their writing process. Describe what happens for you when you decide to write a book. Do you plot out your story and use outlines or do you just sit down and start writing whatever comes to mind?

I’ll read a headline, watch a video, or see a photograph or painting somewhere and suddenly inspiration strikes. Once the spring board for the story is in place, I just sit down and write and usually the characters tell me how to run with the ball from there.

5. Have you ever experienced writer’s block and if so, how do you cope with it? Do you write yourself out of the block or do you walk away from what you’re doing and return to the book later?

Actually, I suffer from this malady quite often and sometimes I push through it by writing for several hours until something breaks and sometimes I just take on more magazine work or training clients until I feel creative again. A change of scenery or a bout of high-intensity exercise also sometimes helps.

6. Your books often include other locations outside the US. Have you traveled abroad or do you research the places you include in your books?

Travel thrills me and I’ve visited many of the places portrayed in my books. But I recently wrote my caving series, Love in the Labyrinths, without having visited Vietnam, by simply watching National Geographic videos about Mountain River Cave and reading library books. I also enlisted help from a beta reader who served in the Vietnam War and trekked all over the country. George told me my characters should go commando, since elastic on sweaty skin apparently enhances the growth of skin fungus. Getting people naked faster seemed like an excellent plan for this erotic suspense series.

7. If a new writer approached you and told you they’d never been published but planned to self-publish their first book, what advice would you give them?

I would advise them to consult with a critique group and/or get a beta reader or two to take a look before they place their reputation on the line with something less than professional. Launching a career with a sloppy piece of work can kill someone’s chance for success. There are so many writers publishing with the ease of self-publishing and today’s market is super competitive. I think it’s very important to compose something that fits the genre and/or represents the “brand” the author is trying to establish. I have chosen to go the latter route myself, since my books don’t run midstream for the genres of contemporary romance, romantic suspense or sports romance. For example, most contemporary romance novels today feature billionaire men with influence and women who love to shop and enjoy long lunches while I take my readers out in the middle of a snake-infested jungle! And many suspense novels include only a stolen kiss or two whereas in my novels, my characters are always horny and whipping off their clothes in the most unlikely of places—on beaches, in caves, and even on tree trunks! But my readers enjoy the uniqueness of my stories, which I consider to be the Sabrina Devonshire trademark…

8. Tell us about your first acceptance letter. How did you choose a publisher, what happened after you submitted your manuscript, and how did you celebrate your manuscript acceptance?

I sent out queries, sample chapters and partials to many publishers I found on the RWA web site and when I got an acceptance from Extasy Books, I signed on. They struck me as personable and also offered a wealth of resources authors could use to hone their writing and understand the editing and publishing process. They also have one of the best small publisher web sites out there. I’m especially impressed with the quick click Kindle download option.

9. What are you working on now? Tell us a little about what you have coming soon, too.
My first self-published title will publish late this month or in early October.  Seaside Seduction is written entirely from the male point-of-view.

Here’s the blurb:

Wealthy defense systems CEO Nicholas Gallero spots a mysterious woman in the Sea of Cortez while whale watching from the patio of his Cabo San Lucas mansion. When he realizes she’s in trouble, he rushes to save her. He’s instantly attracted to the voluptuous dark haired Selena Gomez. When Selena says she doesn’t remember how she ended up in Cabo, he invites her back to his house. Business as usual ends and his suspenseful romantic adventure begins.

10. Do you have specific career goals in mind? Where do you picture yourself in five years? How about ten years from now?

I want to make the USA Bestseller list with at least one title within the next two years and be well-known enough to get frequent invites to speak at conferences. I hope to present on wellness as often as other topics because I see a lot of authors coping with needless pain and disability due to bad lifestyle and work habits.

Guest Post and Spotlight on Author Adriana Kraft

Today, I'm excited to welcome fellow eXtasy Books author Adriana Kraft.
I asked Adriana to stop by and tell us more about Aria Returns which releases today
 from eXtasy Books!

The blog is all yours, Adriana! Welcome!

~~~~~
Have you ever written a character who seeps into your soul and just won’t let you go? That’s what happened with Aria, the love goddess my husband and I created (or discovered, perhaps) nearly a decade ago. She’s so real to us we keep expecting her to pop in the door, or materialize from the northern lights, the way she did in her first book.
What’s an author to do? We did the only thing we could think of – we let her tell us her next adventure, we put it on the page, and it’s coming to you this Wednesday, May 1, from Extasy Books. We think you’ll like it.
Aria’s original adventure, Colors of the Night, was the first erotic romance my husband and I wrote together, when we were just starting our fiction career.
A love triangle with a dazzling immortal goddess – will it ignite or extinguish the dying embers of a contemporary couple’s love?
It was released to rave reviews in 2006 – and promptly went off the market when that e-pub tanked. We were thrilled to have Extasy re-release it in 2009 when our rights were returned to us. But Aria wasn’t finished with us – she’s persistent that way, apparently. This time, instead of rekindling fires between partners in an existing relationship, she’s called on for some very tender healing:
Can the immortal love goddess Aria heal not one but two traumatized hearts—and if she succeeds, will those hearts open to each other?
Aria Returns
BLURB
Traumatized by the boyfriend from hell, Amber Heath makes a desperate plea for help—and is shocked when the immortal love goddess Aria materializes and whisks her away to a nineteenth century Carnivale.
Jeff Conway is still reeling from his fiancé’s betrayal and not about to risk his heart. But he’s more than willing to play with the spunky sprite Aria brings to meet him at Carnivale.
Sometimes watching, sometimes joining in, and always coaching, Aria launches Amber and Jeff on an erotic journey back to health and playfulness. But even the love goddess can’t force them to love each other.
EXCERPT:
"You've seen me play softball?” Amber asked.
Aria laughed. "Of course. I pride myself on doing my homework before taking on a situation."
"A situation. I'm not sure I like being a situation."
Aria shrugged. "Maybe we can come up with a better word. I sometimes do struggle with your language and concepts. But you called specifically for my help. Usually, I have to surprise people. I've selected them before they know it. Because of your aunt, you selected me before I knew you."
"But you could've rejected me—my situation."
"I could've," Aria acknowledged, "but I didn't."
"Why?"
"Because you believed and you cried. Tears tell me a lot. You were crying not only for yourself—for your past—but most importantly for your future. I can help you prepare for your future—if you trust me enough."
Amber frowned. "You don't know the future?"
Aria shook her head.
Sighing, Amber said, "No guarantees."
"No guarantees." Aria folded her hands in her lap. "I can help you make some discoveries about yourself, about life, but I cannot make you change, or make you love, or make anyone else love you."
"Then why should I trust you?"
Aria shrugged. "You've been battered, worse than you even know. You have a vague awareness of that, but you haven't accepted it, not really. I believe for you to understand yourself, you must flee this place and your boyfriend."
"You want me to go away with you, like Jamie and Ryan did."
"I'm offering you that opportunity. I believe a change of environment and time may prove very healthy for you, but only you can choose."
"What about Frank?"
"For now, he won't even know you're gone. Let me explain, little one. If you agree to travel with me to another time and reality, there is no comparable time lapse in this time." She arched an eyebrow. "Besides, I thought your boyfriend wasn't coming back tonight. He's saving you for breakfast."
"Fat chance of that happening." Amber fought the bile rising in her throat at the thought of where Frank might be at the moment. She sat up straighter. "How long do I have to decide?"
Aria shrugged a shoulder. "Until your boyfriend gets back, I suppose."
"You don't call him by name."
"He doesn't deserve to be called by name."
Amber winced.
"All the decisions are yours, Amber. But if you ask me a question, I will not lie to you." Aria squeezed her knee. "And if you're wondering if I'm here to help you and your boyfriend like I did with your aunt and uncle, let me be very clear. I am not. I only help people who want to change, or at least have some hope of changing. Your current boyfriend is beyond hope. If you want me to help you fix things up with him, I will leave right now. I'd never consider letting vermin like that touch me."
"I see." Dejected, Amber studied her toes. "But is that the same as making a decision for me—rejecting Frank?"
Aria shook her head. "If you decide you want to travel with me for awhile to experience new possibilities, and when we're finished you still want to come back to this man, then that is your choice. I won't and can't stop that from happening."
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Our tag line is Erotic Romance for Two, Three, or More. Readers may not know there are two of us writing together under the pen name “Adriana Kraft” —my husband and myself. Each of us has always wanted to be a writer. Our careers took other turns first, and we met (well, and fell in love and married) in academia, where we’ve both done lots of writing, together and separately. But fiction is lots more fun, and we love living out our life-long dream, now our full-time pursuit.
Aria Returns is our twenty-first erotic romance book published at Extasy Books. Our pairings include straight m/f, lesbian, bisexual, ménage and polyamory, with both contemporary and paranormal settings. We hope you'll stop by our Website, browse our Blog, and sample a taste of our world, “filled with warmth, blazing hot sex, well-developed characters…not for the faint of heart” (Romance Junkies Reviews).
